What is the Divine Mercy Chaplet?
The Divine Mercy Chaplet is a prayer devotion given by Jesus to Saint Faustina in 1935. It combines familiar prayers with the beautiful Divine Mercy message.
The Chaplet Prayers
Begin with: Our Father, Hail Mary, The Creed
On the Our Father beads: "Eternal Father, I offer You the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Your dearly beloved Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world."
On the Hail Mary beads: "For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world."
Repeat for all decades.
Conclude three times: "Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us and on the whole world."
How to Pray with Rosary Beads
- 1Make the Sign of the Cross
- 2Opening prayers (Our Father, Hail Mary, Creed)
- 3On the first decade: Eternal Father...
- 4Say 10 Hail Marys with "For the sake of His sorrowful Passion..."
- 5Glory Be
- 6Repeat for all 5 decades

The Divine Mercy Image
Jesus asked that the image be painted with the signature: "Jesus, I trust in You."
