Why We Keep CandleFaith Free: Our Promise to Every Soul Who Prays Here

CandleFaith has never charged for prayer. Learn why we believe every soul deserves access to a place of prayer, and how you can help us keep it that way.

By CandleFaith Team

From the beginning, CandleFaith was built on a single conviction: no soul should be turned away from a place of prayer because they cannot pay.

Why This Matters

Prayer is not a product. It is not a premium feature. It is a human need — as fundamental as breath.

Every day, people come to CandleFaith carrying things too heavy to carry alone. A mother praying for a sick child. A veteran struggling to find peace. A teenager too afraid to pray aloud, but able to light a quiet candle here. Someone grieving a loss that the world has already moved on from.

This sanctuary exists for them. All of them. Without exception.

Free Is a Choice We Make Every Day

Keeping CandleFaith free is not an accident — it is a daily commitment. It requires real resources: the infrastructure that keeps candles burning around the clock, the development that makes the experience worthy of the prayers it holds, and the ongoing care that a living, growing sanctuary demands.

We make that choice because we believe, with Saint John Chrysostom, that "the rich exist for the sake of the poor. The poor exist for the salvation of the rich." A sanctuary that only the comfortable can enter is no sanctuary at all.

How You Make It Possible

CandleFaith is sustained not by advertisers or investors, but by the quiet generosity of people who believe in this mission. If this place has brought you peace — in a moment of grief, in the stillness of early morning, in a prayer you didn't know how to say aloud — then you already know what it's worth.

If you're able to give, your gift joins a community of supporters who keep the candles burning for everyone who cannot give. No amount is too small. No gesture goes unseen by God.

Our Promise

CandleFaith will always be free. Whatever the future holds, we will never place prayer behind a paywall. If you can give, we are deeply grateful. If you cannot, you are no less welcome here.

And if giving is not possible right now — think of ten people who need a quiet place to pray. Share CandleFaith with them. That gift costs nothing, and it may mean everything to someone.

"For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me."

— Matthew 25:35

Together, we keep the light burning.
