St. Catherine of Siena was a Dominican tertiary and one of the most influential women of 14th-century Italy. Despite being illiterate, she dictated hundreds of letters and her mystical work 'The Dialogue.' She was known for her diplomatic efforts to restore the papacy to Rome and end the Western Schism. Her life was marked by intense mystical experiences and tireless service to the poor and sick.
